Carbide Insert GradeAll of our standard carbide insert sizes are available in four different grades of carbide. Overview of Carbide Insert Grade The standard grade "01" will work for most materials. Our "02" grade is excellent for cutting pvc, plastic and other man made materials. This grade is also recommended for cutting across glue lines as it will last longer than the standard grade carbide insert. Our "03" grade is ideal for woodworking applications including carbide inserts for straight router bits. If you are experiencing problems with carbide inserts breaking easily with hardwood cutting, we recommend our "04" grade insert. This carbide insert will not break as easily, although length of use is deminished because of the dense composite of the cabide insert. 01 Carbide Insert Grade Recommended for standard applications including most materials. 02 Carbide Insert Grade Recommended for cutting man made materials including glue. 03 Carbide Insert Grade Recommended for general woodworking applications. 04 Carbide Insert Grade Recommended for hardwood cutting TiN Coating TiN Coating is utilized to increase the hardness of the tool along with providing a lubrication which allows the material to pass by the tool without sticking. This material helps decrease the cutting temperature while increasing life of the carbide insert & tool. |
